Classes for Children and Young Adults
CLAY DAYS -1
Grades 1-3
Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30-11:00 am
July 10, July 12 and July 17, July 19
(4 classes during 2 weeks)
Kids love to create with clay. Students will slab, coil, pinch and sculpt their way to functional pieces of art. They will also use glazes to color the clay, and add a glossy finish. TBA
Class fee: $45

Grades 4-6
Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00-2:30 pm

FUN WITH B&W PHOTOGRAPHY
Grades 3-8
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00-11:15 am
July 11, 13 and July 18, 20
(4 classes during 2 weeks)
In this class, we will discuss the basics of photography such as composition, lighting, subject matter, cropping, matting, etc. Each student will be given a disposable camera and will experiment with black and white photography in order to get the best picture. At the end of this course, each student will have a wonderful portfolio of unique works of art and a new way of viewing the world — through the lens of the camera! Limit: 10 students. TBA

SEE IT, DRAW IT
Grades 4-6
Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00-3:00 pm
July 11 and July 13 (2 classes)
Students learn how to draw from life, a process considered the foundation of realistic art. We’ll draw objects, interiors and landscapes, utilizing measuring techniques to improve the perspective and proportion in our drawings. TBA
Class fee: $25
DRAWING AND PAINTING
Grades K-3
Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00-3:00 pm
July 18 and July 20 (2 classes)
Children experiment with a variety of drawing and painting techniques. We’ll explore crayon and watercolor resist techniques and experiment with blending. We’ll also use basic rules of perspective to create pictures with space and depth. TBA

WHEELS GO ROUND
Grades 4-6
Monday through Wednesday, 9:30-11:00 am
July 24 through July 26 (3 classes)
Students draw, paint and sculpt cars using a variety of fun and fanciful materials. We’ll vroooooom in the art room! TBA

TREASURE CHEST OF ART
Grades 1-3
Monday through Wednesday, 1:00-2:00 pm
July 24 through July 26 (3 classes)
Students make jewelry, a jewelry box and other wearable art that you might find in a treasure chest. Mixed media and sculpture are explored. TBA
Class fee: $30
OLD-TIME PINBALL
Grades 4-7
Monday through Thursday, 1:00-2:30 pm
August 7 through August 10 (4 classes)
Students use hammers, nails and other bits of hardware to create old-time pinball games, complete with moving parts, pockets and rubber band bumpers. Students use design elements, craftsmanship and imagination as they build their games. Jody Vanesky
